Affiliate disclosure

Some links on Bozeman Proper are affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase or booking, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site running without paywalls or pop-up ads.

How it works

Affiliate links look and function like regular links. When you book a hotel, rent skis, or purchase a product through one of our links, the company pays us a referral fee -- typically 3-10% of the transaction. The price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the site.

Commissions don't influence recommendations

Every recommendation on this site is based on firsthand experience, local knowledge, and genuine quality. We recommend places and products because they're good, not because they pay us. If a hotel has a great affiliate program but mediocre rooms, we won't recommend it. If the best breakfast spot in town has no affiliate program, we still write about it.

Programs we participate in

Bozeman Proper may earn commissions through the following affiliate programs:

  • Booking.com -- hotel and lodging bookings
  • VRBO -- vacation rental bookings
  • Viator / GetYourGuide -- guided tours, fly fishing trips, and experiences
  • Amazon Associates -- travel gear, packing recommendations, and products mentioned in guides
  • Ski rental delivery services -- equipment rental and delivery bookings
  • Rental car aggregators -- car rental comparison and booking

Assume any product link may be an affiliate link

Rather than marking every single link individually, assume that any link to a product, hotel, tour, or booking service on this site could be an affiliate link. If it bothers you, go to the company's website directly -- we'd rather you get the information and make the booking than worry about whether we earn a few dollars from it.
