Editorial policy
How we research content
Everything published on Bozeman Proper starts with firsthand experience. The author lives in the Gallatin Valley and has direct personal experience with the lodging, restaurants, ski areas, attractions, and logistics covered on this site. When firsthand experience isn't sufficient -- pricing data changes, new businesses open, seasonal hours shift -- we verify information through official business websites, government sources (Montana DOT, National Park Service, Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks), and direct contact with operators.
We do not republish press releases, rewrite tourism board copy, or aggregate other review sites. If we haven't been there, eaten there, or driven that road, we say so.
Independence from advertisers
No business, tourism board, hotel, restaurant, or ski resort has editorial influence over Bozeman Proper content. We earn revenue through affiliate commissions and may eventually run display advertising, but neither revenue stream affects what we recommend or how we write about it. A business cannot pay for a positive review, and a negative review will not be softened because of an affiliate relationship.
Corrections and updates
Prices change. Restaurants close. Road conditions shift. When we discover outdated information, we update the article and note the revision date at the top. If we get something wrong -- a restaurant's hours, a hotel's pet policy, a shuttle company's pricing -- email us at hello@bozemanproper.com and we'll verify and correct it.
What this site is and isn't
Bozeman Proper provides educational travel planning information based on personal experience and research. It is not a travel agency. We don't book trips, manage reservations, or provide professional travel advisory services. The information here helps you make better decisions, but the decisions and bookings are yours. When in doubt about safety conditions, road closures, or park regulations, check official sources.
